    What is a DVD-R?

A DVD-R (Digital Versatile Disc Recordable) is a WORM (Write Once, Read Multiple) media with a net capacity of 4.7 GB. DVD-Rs and conventional DVDs (you buy in a store) are not physical identical: DVD-Rs are burned with a laser (DVD recorder), whereas conventional DVD-Rs are pressed in a factory. While they're not physically identical, they work just the same.

    Hardware Requirements

Your system must be equipped with a DVD player which can read DVD-Rs.
